Jenny Thielman is the co-owner of The Dance Expo and the owner of DanceNation dance studio. Jenny brings a balanced perspective to the traditional dance studio, contrary to popular reality TV shows depicting the sport of dance as highly competitive for students and parents. Jenny's core values emphasize relationship and character building. Students of DanceNation develop the leadership qualities they need to succeed in their sport and in life.
Jenny's experience started at the age of 7 with her training as a competitive gymnast in Minneapolis, MN. It wasn't until the age of 14 that she was introduced to dance. She quickly excelled to the top during her high school and college years in styles such as Jazz, Pom, Hip Hop, Kick and Novelty. In 1999, she turned her sights from performance to coaching, choreographing and judging. She spent her summers touring the Midwest as a freelance choreographer and directing dance camps for Just For Kix.
In 2001 Jenny moved from Minneapolis to Cedar Rapids, IA and directed the Just For Kix youth dance program for 6 years until branching out on her own and opening DanceNation. DanceNation is now in it's 5th year and is experiencing tremendous growth and success due to Jenny's unique approach to dance education. Jenny is an expert in Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary and Pom.
